Volleyball

Myanna (Hellsten) Webster

Myanna (Hellsten) Webster ('03) was a standout multi-sport athlete at St. Michael’s, making seven state championship appearances and capturing four titles in volleyball and basketball. A six-time All-State honoree, she earned multiple MVP and All-Tournament recognitions across both sports. In volleyball, she helped lead her team to three straight TAPPS 5A state championships and was a two-time All-Cen-Tex Team selection. Myanna also earned national recognition as a Wendy’s Heisman Award nominee in 2001 and McDonald’s All-American nominee in 2003, while serving as both Senior Class President and Homecoming Queen.
At the University of Cincinnati, she became the first volleyball player in program history to record over 1,000 kills and 500 blocks. She earned All-Conference honors in both C-USA and the Big East, was named C-USA Freshman of the Year, and received the prestigious Helen Norman Smith Award in 2007. After college, she joined UC’s coaching staff from 2006 to 2010, guiding the team to two NCAA tournament appearances and mentoring four All-Americans.

Swimming

Bridget (Boushka) Boes

Bridget (Boushka) Boes ('13) was a standout multisport athlete, specializing in swimming and excelling in track and cross-country. During her time at St. Michael’s, she set and continues to hold an impressive seven swimming records, including the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 100 fly, 100 back, and 200 IM. She brought home six state championship titles, was a four-time First-Team All-State selection in the 500 free, and a two-time All-State selection in both the 100 and 200 freestyle events. She served as the swimming team captain for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013 and was named the swimming MVP for all four years of her high school career.
Outside of the pool, Bridget also shone in cross country and track. She earned All-State recognition twice in cross country, claimed a state championship in the two-mile event in track in 2010, and was named Cross Country MVP that same year.
After graduating, she continued her swimming success at Stanford University. She was a member of the 2017 NCAA Championship and Pac-12 Championship teams and was recognized as a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honoree.

Cross Country, Track and Field

Dennis Hodapp

Dennis Hodapp ('10) was a standout distance runner at St. Michael’s, earning four varsity letters in track and three in cross country. He captured back-to-back TAPPS 5A Cross Country State Championships as a junior and senior, and claimed five state titles on the track—three in the 1,600 meters and two in the 3,200 meters. His dominance earned him the prestigious TAPPS 5A Male Athlete of the Year award. Dennis went on to compete at the University of Tulsa, where he earned All-Conference honors and helped lead his team to a 7th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Nationals.

Girls Basketball Coach

David Koch

David Koch dedicated nearly three decades to shaping St. Michael’s mission through a variety of leadership roles. From 1987 to 2007, he served as Head of Transportation, Buildings, and Grounds. He also held the position of Chief Financial Officer from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2011 to 2014. In the classroom, he was a true educator, teaching AP Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Government from 1987 to 2015.
Beyond his administrative and academic contributions, David left an extraordinary legacy as the school’s girls' basketball coach. Over his storied coaching career, he guided his teams to 15 Final Four appearances, secured six state championships, and claimed 18 district titles. With an outstanding career record of 500 wins and 121 losses, he stands as the winningest coach in this school’s history.

Boys Basketball

Jake Kocher

Jake Kocher ('11) made a lasting impact on St. Michael’s basketball program, earning consecutive All-Central Texas selections and All-State honors from both TAPPS and TABC. Known for his scoring ability, he graduated as Austin's all-time leading scorer, finishing with over 2,500 career points. As a junior, he posted 30 points per game, followed by 29 points and five rebounds per game his senior year, leading the team to a state semifinal appearance. He was also instrumental in winning two district championships. After high school, Jake continued his basketball journey at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.

Mitch Morse

Mitch Morse attended St. Michael’s from 2006-2010. During his high school years, Mitch showcased his versatility and talent by earning two 1st Team All-State honors in football, alongside being recognized on the Central Texas All-Decade Football Team. His academic dedication paid off as well, garnering two Academic All-State distinctions in football and one in basketball. Mitch’s also earned All-State recognition in track and field events such as shot put and discus, culminating two State Championship victories in his high school career.
At the University of Missouri, Mitch continued to excel. He started the final 39 games of his collegiate career and earned all SEC honors. He was also an integeral part of two SEC East and Big 12 North Champions. His dedication to both athletics and academics was evident through his four Academic All-Conference honors and All SEC Honors.
Embarking on a professional journey with the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars, Mitch’s impact on the field was profound, starting in 139 NFL games, including 13 playoff appearances. Mitch was named to the 2015 All-Rookie Team and was a 2022 Pro-Bowl selection. His consistency and leadership contributed to playoff appearances in every season of his career, including four AFC East Championships and three AFC West Championships, culminating in two AFC Championship game apperances, solidifying his legacy as one of the most respected players in the league. Mitch Morse’s journey serves as an inspiration, epitomizing the values of hard work, dedication, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Selena (Scott) Winbush

Selena (Scott) Winbush attended St. Michael’s from 1994-1998 and is an iconic figure in the St. Michael’s athletics history, blazing a trail from her high school days to her collegiate endeavors. During her high school tenure, Selena’s basketball skills shone brightly, earning her numerous accolades including four 1st Team All-State selections and leading her team to four Final Four appearances, capturing two State Championships along the way. Her dominance on the court was matched only by her clutch performances, earning her honors as a two-time State Tournament MVP. Her senior year was a culmination of excellence, garnering recognition as Central Texas Player of the Year, Parade All-American, and securing spots on both the USA Today top-five Freshman and top-25 player lists in the country.
At the University of Kansas, Selena continued to excel both academically and athletically, contributing to the team’s success with two NCAA Tournament appearances. Her commitment to excellence extended beyond the court, as she earned recognition on the Jayhawk Scholar Athlete Honor Roll three times. Selena (Scott) Winbush’s legacy remains an enduring testament to her dedication, skill, and unwavering determination to succeed at the highest level, inspiring future generations of athletes to reach for the stars.

Jameson Houston

Jameson Houston attended St. Michael’s from 2011-2015. During his high school tenure, Jameson excelled across multiple sports, earning honors in football, basketball, and track. Notably, he garnered two 1st team All-State Offense and Defense honors in football and was ranked the nation’s #63 athlete prospected by ESPN. His talent transcended to the track, as well, where he was named champion in the TAPPS 5A 200M Dash and the 4x400M Relay in 2014.
After high school, Jameson attended Baylor University and continued to shine both academically and athletically, earning distinctions such as 1st Team Academic All Big 12 and Honorable Mention All-Big 12. He also had appearances in prestigious games like the Big 12 Championship and Sugar Bowl.
Embarking on a professional career with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jameson showcased his skill, playing in multiple games during the 2021 season. His journey also led him to sign contracts with six different NFL teams and earn selection by the Vegas Vipers in the 2023 XFL Draft. Jameson’s journey serves as a testament to his dedication and talent, inspiring years of athletes to come.
Kyle Martin

Kyle Martin

Kyle Martin attended St. Michael’s from 2005-2009. Throughout his high school career, Kyle showcased his talent in both basketball and baseball, earning two 1st Team All-District and All-State honors in basketball and an impressive array of awards in baseball, including three 1st Team All-District awards, two All-State selections, and two Academic All-State honors. His skill on the diamond earned him a draft selection by the Washington Nationals in the 2009 MLB Draft.
At Texas A&M University, Kyle continued to excel, contributing significantly to the team’s success as a two-time Big 12 Champion and a key player in the 2011 College World Series. He was the Texas A&M Wally Moon Award Winner in 2011 and Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2012. His achievements were not limited to the field; Kyle’s dedication to academic excellence earned him recognition on the Big 12 Academic Honor Roll and 2013 SEC Academic Honor Roll, as well.
His college performance led to draft selections by both the Chicago White Sox in 2012 and the Boston Red Sox in 2013 where he then signed. Kyle’s professional career with the Boston Red Sox saw him achieve numerous milestones, including selection to the New York Penn-League All-Star team and being part of the 2015 Arizona Fall League Champion team. His MLB debut in 2017 marked a significant moment not only for him but also as the first Red Sox player from the 2013 draft class to reach the Major Leagues. Beyond his athletic achievements, Kyle’s commitment to community service was acknowledged with the prestigious Sullivan Tire Community Spirit Award in 2017. Kyle Martin’s journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes, showcasing the rewards of perseverance, dedication, and excellence both on and off the field.
Daniel Rohleder

Daniel Rohleder

Daniel Rohleder attended St. Michael’s from 2000-2004. During his high school tenure, Daniel emerged as a dominant force, amassing an impressive array of ackolades including six TAPPS State Championships and being named All-American six times. Daniel blew away the competition in process of becoming the TAPPS record holder for the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. He was equally as predigious in the classroom, earning Academic All-American in 2003.
At the University of Texas, Daniel continued his reign of success, earning three All-American honors, securing four Big 12 Conference Champion titles, was an 11-time All-Big 12 Conference recipient, and a three-time All-American Honorable Mention.
He was also honored on the First-Team Academic All-Big 12.
His contributions to the sport extended beyond collegiate competition, as he represented the United States on the world stage as a member of the 2005 U.S. World University Games Team and was further highlighted on the national level, where he clinched three national titles at the 2004 ConocoPhillips National Championships and emerged victorious four times as a USA Swimming Sectional Champion. His leadership and skill were recognized as he served as tri-captain of the 2004 Junior National Team, solidifying his status as a beacon of excellence in the world of swimming. Daniel Rohleder’s remarkable achievements serve as a testament to his dedication, talent, and unwavering commitment to excellence both in and out of the pool, inspiring generations of swimmers to reach for the highest levels of success.
