On Wednesday, February 26, the boys and girls golf team headed back to Shadowglen Golf Course in Manor, to compete in the Hyde Park Invitational. In the boys division, the team took 3rd place with a team score of 348 – only one shot behind runner-up Hyde Park.
The highlight of the day was seeing two Warrior golfers tied for 1st place at the end of play – Jackson Mills ('28) and Sonny Sciantarelli ('27) – who both shot 76 in tough windy conditions. A scorecard playoff determined the final positions, with Jackson earning 1st place to take home the individual title! Sonny finished in 3rd place with another consistent performance for the Warriors. The team was rounded out by Sam Cuba ('26) and Colin McCrea ('27), who finished with a 91 and a 105, respectively.
In the girls division, Viki Hernandez ('27) was the lone Warrior on the course and carded a final score of 98 to put her in a three-way tie for 2nd place. A scorecard playoff resulted in 4th place for Viki, adding another top-5 finish to her resume.
The next event is Monday, March 10, when the team will head back to Shadowglen Golf Course to compete in a larger and stronger field at the Pflugerville ISD Classic.
