On Monday, April 14, the upper school boys and girls golf team travelled to San Antonio to compete in the TAPPS 6A District 3 championship at Riverside Golf Course. Team preparation the week prior paid dividends, as our boys shot a team score of 311 to finish third and advance to TAPPS 6A South Regionals.
Sonny Sciantarelli ('27) led the way for the Warriors with a 74 (+2) to finish in fourth place individually. Finishing in fifth place individually, one shot behind with a 75 (+3), was Harrison Knight ('25). A personal best 78 (+6) by Aiden Cranis ('28) left him finishing in eighth place individually. Rounding out the team were Colin McCrea ('27), Jackson Mills ('28), Sam Cuba ('26), Nicholas Shilling ('25), and Matt Kadenacy ('25).
For the girls team, Marin Kovalik (28), Lucynda Fernandez-Romero (28), and Viki Hernandez (27) competed. Viki led the team with a round of 89 (+17) to finish in fourth place individually and advance to Regionals.
The team will travel to the TAPPS 6A South Regional Championship on Sunday, April 27, to prepare for play on Monday and Tuesday, April 28-29, at Gleannloch Pines Golf Club in Spring, TX.
