Several varsity boys returned as Regional Champions, with rainy conditions extending the TAPPS Regional Track Meet into Thursday. Many others finished in the top four of their respective events to qualify for state.
The regional event winners and state qualifiers are Gabriel Estrada ('23) (1st - 800M, 2nd - 1600M, 4th - 3200M), JaHazniah Griffin ('23) (1st – shot put, 1st - discus), Zander Romero ('23) (1st – long jump), Bo Odgen ('26) (3rd – triple jump), Nehemiah Griffin ('25) (3rd – shot put), Cole Nguyen ('25) (1st – pole vault), and the 4x400M team of Blake Mikell ('23), Bo Ogden ('23), Ethan Dang ('25), and Jason Stokes Jr. ('25), which placed 4th in the relay. The boys team finished 3rd place overall out of 13 schools.
The girls' final event highlighted their regional participation. The 4x400M relay team of Kyra Lorenz ('25), Landyn Loeffler ('26), Gabi Webb ('25), and Laney Kalsu ('24) ran a season’s best time of 4:20.32 with their 5th place finish. The team was just shy of qualifying for state but provided a positive end to the track season for the girls team.
