On Monday, April 29, the St. Michael's boys golf team competed in the 5A TAPPS Regional Championship in Fort Worth, TX. Very steady play allowed the team to finish in 3rd place, breaking the 300 stroke total for the 2nd time this year with a 299. This finish qualifies the team for the TAPPS State Championship, in Glen Rose this Monday and Tuesday.
St. Michael's had two top-10 finishers, with Beau Buehrle ('24) leading the way with a 73 (1-over) to finish T-6th. Sonny Sciantarelli ('27) finished T-9th with a 74 (2-over). This is great momentum heading into our final event of the year as we make a serious run at the school's first ever golf State Championship.
Viki Hernandez ('27) finished tied for 9th place for a top-10 finish and trip to Glen Rose to represent St. Michael's in the TAPPS State Championship. This has been quite a run for our lone girl golfer, finishing with yet another medal and making it to the State Championship as a freshman. The future is very bright for our girls program, so if you have a student who has played golf or is interested in getting into golf, please know she will have a great teammate in Viki.
Best of luck to our boys team and Viki next week!
