The Warrior boys basketball team has been making waves in the Austin sports scene. For two consecutive weeks, the Austin American-Statesman has ranked the varsity team #1 in the Austin/Central area, while the Austin Sports Journal has dubbed them the top team in the city, holding the #1 spot in TAPPS.
Recently, the Warriors returned from the talent-filled Classic Tournament in Bristol, Tennessee, where they faced some of the best teams from across the nation. The team ended the tournament with a 2-2 record, securing victories over Bartlett High School from Tennessee (82-74) and Orem High School from Utah (75-62). Though they came up short against Lake Norman High School of North Carolina (61-70) and the tournament champions, Calvary Christian Academy of Florida (73-89), standout players Bo Ogden ('26) and Aiden Disu ('25) earned All-Tournament honors!
In district play, the Warriors are off to a strong start with a 2-0 record after dominating Central Catholic (67-28) and TMI Episcopal (92-67) last week. The team’s next district matchup will be on the road against Antonian on Tuesday, January 14 with JV II at 5:00 pm, JV at 6:15 pm, and varsity at 7:30 pm.
