The St. Michael's golf team competed this week at events hosted by Anderson High School, held at Lions Municipal Golf Course. On Wednesday, the boys golf team participated in the Don Beaver Invitational, finishing in 5th place, with a team score of 319. Beau Buehrle ('24) led the Crusaders with a 1-over par 72 earning 5th place medalist, followed by Harrison Knight ('25) (76), Calvert Layne ('25) (83), Sonny Sciantarelli ('27) (88), and Nicholas Shilling ('25) (99).
On Thursday, our girls golf team was represented by Vicki Hernandez ('27), making her high school debut at the Joy Riley Invitational. A solid start with a birdie on the first hole followed by a rainy finish left Vicki in a tie for 5th place medalist with a score of 93. Congratulations, Vicki, on a great start to your high school career!
The golf team will have the winter off, but resume tournament play in late January and February with TAPPS District & Regional events in late April, and TAPPS State in early May 2024.
Thank you to all the parents who showed up to support the athletes during both tournaments this week!
